“Nature is Supposed to Expand. And We're Part of Nature. - Peter Li
A friend recommended "The Science to Getting Rich" by Wallace Wattles.
$5 and 3 days later, this 79 page book arrived at my doorstep.
When I saw it was originally published in 1910, I was excited.
I love reading OLD material.
And it was much harder to publish a book so there is more effort involved to get an idea out there.
Anyways...
This little gem of a book is a GREAT mindset book around money and "getting rich".
We now live in a world where "getting Rich" is considered the same as "being Greedy".
Business owners are demonized for wanting to make a profit.
(They don't see the flip side of business owners providing JOBS to the economy...but I digress)
It's the "Finite Pie" paradigm where if one person wins (by getting rich), others will lose. It's one or the other. Black and white.
It talks in terms of an "Infinite Pie".
This material is based on the monistic theory of the Universe - the theory that One is All, and All is One.
Wallace states that...
"People must be taught to become rich by creation, not by competition"
"Success in life is becoming what you want to be; you can become what you want to be only by making use of things, and you can have the free use of things only as you become rich enough to buy them"
"Its perfectly right that you should desire to be rich; if you are normal man or woman you cannot help doing so. It's perfectly right that you should give your best attention to the Science of Getting Rich, for it is the noblest and most necessary of all studies. If you neglect this study, you are derelict in your duty to yourself, to God, and to humanity; for you can render to God and humanity no greater service than to make the most of yourself"
I felt this book is a great permission slip that it's OKAY to have a goal of 'Getting Rich'.
Over the years, I've come to realize that "Money" is just a magnifier.
If you're a "shitty" human being, having more money will just magnify that "shitty-ness" within yourself.
If you're a "good" human being, then having more money will just magnify the good you can do for the world and humanity.
Yes... there are Billionaires / Millionaires who are "Greedy"...
...AND there are Billionaires / Millionaire who are ultra generous.
(same goes with Doctors, Lawyers, Policemen, Teachers...etc...etc...)
It's who you are at the core that determines how your 'Riches' will serve (or harm) humanity.
So if you have some money goals or revenue targets for your business this year...
...then I highly recommend checking out this book to help let go of some old beliefs that won't serve you around "Getting Rich".
